Energylinx Limited is a company registered in Scotland under company number SC244794 having its registered office at The e-Centre, Cooperage Way, Business Village, Alloa, FK10 3LP ("we", "us", "our").

This privacy policy sets out how we may use and protect any personal data that you the user ("you", "user") provide, or is provided on your behalf or that we collect from you, while you use this website (the "Services Portal").

For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the "Act"), we are the data controller in respect of information that you provide through the Services Portal.

By using the Services Portal you agree to us using your personal data as described in this Privacy Policy. If you are providing personal data in relation to a third party you confirm that you have that third party's consent to do so.

This Privacy Policy works in tandem with our Cookie Policy to inform you of how we use and protect any of your personal data that is collected through your use of the Services Portal.

The information we collect about you
In order to obtain a domestic energy comparison (Personal Projection) we will require you to provide us with your personal information including but not limited to your title, your name, your address(es), your date of birth, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, energy consumption information and financial information. You can opt out of providing information by simply not entering it when requested to do so, this however may result in you not receiving an energy comparison quote or allowing you to complete a supply application.

The way we use information
We use the information that is collected from you primary for the purpose of obtaining a domestic energy comparison (Personal Projection) and to help you progress a supply application. We may also use the information collected to contact you to further discuss the services that we provide, and to send information regarding our company or partners who may offer services that we believe may be of interest to you such as promotions and events. We may also use your information for demographic or energy related studies. Your personal information will not be distributed or shared with any third parties without your prior consent You can opt out of being contacted by us, or receiving such information from us, at any time by sending an email to customerservices@energylinx.co.uk

All financial information that we collect through the Services Portal is used solely to check the qualifications and status of prospective customers. A credit check agent may be engaged to provide this service and we will provide your information to such an agent on the basis that this is the sole purpose for that transfer of information. You will be able to use the In relation to the provision of a specific service, it may be necessary for us to carry out a credit check on you. This is not mandatory but your consent to allow us to obtain one will ensure that we can provide the best price comparison available to you. Where such consent is given, you should be aware that credit checks are carried out by a third party and your consent to allow us to obtain one, authorises us to disclose your personal data to that third party solely for the purposes of carrying out the credit check.

Contracting Partners
We contract with third party companies to provide product information and/ or to direct traffic from their sites to the Services Portal ("Contracting Partner"). Where you come to use the Services Portal as a result of being diverted to the Services Portal by a Contracting Partner, that Contracting Partner may retain access rights to the Data that you provide subject to them confirming that they wish to retain this right with us, and subject also to them agreeing to comply fully with the Act as a data controller.

Where the Services Portal contains links to other web sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other web sites. Users and visitors will need to check the policy statement of these others web sites to understand their policies. Users and visitors who access a linked site may be disclosing their private information.
